Coronado Schools Foundation Summer Enrichment’s Learning to Lead experience for incoming 7th-12th graders is the perfect opportunity for budding leaders! These three weekly sessions, held at Coronado Middle School (CMS) from 9am-12pm, will include a combination of inspiring coursework and classroom leadership role opportunities. Sign up for one week or all 3: Session 1, June 15-19; Session 2, June 22-26; Session 3, June 29-July 3.
Throughout the week, the student leaders participate in fun and brief hands-on leadership activities, then head out to be a classroom assistant to other CSF Summer Enrichment classes. It’s an experience very similar to being a camp counselor, helping younger students in classes like art, wacky science, tennis, engineering, and more – picking which class and grade levels they want to work with along the way.
Last year, student leaders enjoyed planning and implementing a weekly dress-up day, leading students in fun activities within their class assignments, and passing out frozen treats to the entire campus each Friday.
NEW THIS YEAR: #CSFSummer2015! Student leaders will document all of the great work being done in classrooms by taking photos and posting them to social media with the hashtag #CSFSummer2015, creating a virtual “social media scrapbook” for our summer enrichment classes.
At the end of each session, Leadership students earn a Certificate of Leadership, a letter of recommendation, and are able to put their experience on future resumes.
