5/31/20 5:45pm Update: City of Coronado issues directive in lieu of a formal curfew. Asks community to stay home and businesses to cease operations overnight from 8 p.m. May 31 to 5:30 a.m. June 1.
5/31/20 4:45pm Update: Protesters are no longer on or near the bridge, however, the bridge remains closed in both directions at this time.Ā Please use the Silver Strand Highway to come and go from Coronado until the bridge is re-opened.
At 12:40pm today, the San Diego – Coronado Bridge was shut down in both directions by law enforcement due to protesters walking on the bridge from the in-bound onramp.Ā The Coronado Police Department has asked the public to avoid the area.Ā Videos fromĀ protesters were uploaded to social media – warning, it contains graphic language:Ā Ā (USER REMOVED VIDEO FROM FACEBOOK)
