Cops and Robbers: Grand Theft at Airbnb Results in $3,000 Loss (6/20/19-6/27/19)

Crimes:

6/27/19: Petty Theft near 200 block of Orange Avenue

Unknown suspect took the victim’s bicycle from the parking lot area of the Coronado Inn. The approximate value of the bicycle is $300.

6/27/19: Grand Theft near 1000 block of Ocean Boulevard

Unknown suspect stole the victim’s locked bicycle from the bike rack attached to the victim’s vehicle. The monetary loss of the bike is $1,500.

6/25/19: Petty Theft near 600 block of Fifth Street

Victim’s FedEx package was stolen from the front doorstep of his residence. The total loss for the package is $51.

6/23/19-6/26/19: Grand Theft Property near 900 block of F Avenue

Unknown suspect stole the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle parked in the street. The value of the catalytic converter is $3,000.

6/23/19-6/25/19: Malicious Mischief/Vandalism (Felony) near 1600 block of Glorietta Boulevard

Subject staying at the Glorietta Bay Inn reportedly left a mess and clogged the bathroom toilet, which caused water damage to the carpet and the ceiling of the room directly underneath. The estimated cost of repair is $3,000.

6/23/19: Grand Theft Property near 1400 block of Orange Avenue

Unknown suspect took victim’s backpack from the fitness center located inside the Coronado Beach Resort. The contents of the backpack were valued at $1030.

6/22/19: Social Hosting near 300 block of E Avenue

A 17-year-old female hosted a party with other juveniles where alcohol and marijuana were being consumed.

6/21/19: Malicious Mischief/Vandalism (Misdemeanor) near 1700 block of Avenida Del Sol

Unknown suspect vandalized the victim’s vehicle with spray paint.

6/20/19: Grand Theft Property near 1200 block of Glorietta Boulevard

Subject was renting a vacation home from the victims. During the stay, subject cut the wires to their video surveillance system. Victim also reported that subject was subleasing the property which was against the rental agreement and rules outlined by Airbnb. After subject left the residence, victim checked the residence and discovered several missing items, valued at approximately $1,500. The total loss (including replacement of the video surveillance system) is approximately $3,000.

6/23/19: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Misdemeanor near 800 block of Orange Avenue

18 year old male

6/22/19: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Misdemeanor near 1700 block of Strand Way
