Bridgeworthy – A Multi-Sensory, Cinematic Experience of “Avengers: Endgame” in 4DX

In the “snap” of just a few days, Avengers: Endgame, has earned over $1 billion and the “opening weekend” isn’t over yet. Yes, $1,000,000,000. Not only has the Avengers franchise surpassed an astonishing financial milestone, but by working with CJ 4DPLEX, the film can also be truly “experienced” in select theatres offering 4DX – a multi-sensory cinematic journey complete with water, wind, fog, scent and of course, synchronized motion chairs to put you closer to the action than anything you have ever experienced before – truth!

Even though Avengers: Endgame is playing here in Coronado Village Theatre, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check out 4DX while viewing this highly anticipated Marvel movie. Once we crossed the bridge, it took about 25 minutes to arrive at Edwards Mira Mesa – depending on what time your movie is, be sure to plan for traffic.  If you get there early, there are plenty of dining options adjacent to the movie theatre.

Many of us have experienced 3D movies or even 4D rides (ex. Star Tours or Soaring of California at Disneyland), but experiencing a specifically engineered 4DX movie that lines up perfectly with what the characters of Avengers: Endgame are actually doing on screen will knock your shoes off…literally. Keep in mind, this is an action-packed, three hour movie filled with dozens of “blockbuster” moments – so, if you are looking for a peaceful and calming cinematic evening, you may want to choose a stationary seat.

In the last 10 years, there have been 20 Avenger movies released leading up to this stunning finale.  “Avengers: Endgame” did a superb job of wrapping up loose ends and giving the audience closure on both sides of the “Infinity Stones”.

Further, the visual effects, story telling and attention given to understanding the emotions of the characters, really helped to make this film achieve the praise and blockbuster status given by reviewers and audience goers alike.

What did Coronado teens think about the movie and the 4DX experience?

As a kid, I grew watching all the backstories of the heroes in the Avenger movies and I could not wait for this moment.  This movie is beyond thrilling and totally worth all the built-up excitement. The storyline brought some insane fight scenes and some emotional moments. Overall this was one of the best movies I’ve seen.

The 4DX experience really contributed to the movie and made the movie so much more entertaining. When the seats moved and the water sprayed it really felt like you were in the fight scene. Whenever Thor summoned his hammer the chair vibrated as if you were right next to him.  4DX really brought a lot more to the movie and is an amazing experience. – Luke Johnson, 13

[SPOILER ALERT] In this movie I liked how most of the superheroes that vanished before came back and defeated Thanos. I also thought it was pretty cool how they went back in time to get the infinity stones so they could save the world. The 4D aspect of this movie made it a memorable experience.  Some parts of movie I thought the chairs shook a little too much but the air blowing in our faces made it feel pretty realistic in certain scenes. – Connor Little, 13

Overall review of the movie and 4DX:  Thumbs up from everyone!
