Coronado Recreation and Golf Services’s Heart 2 Art (H2A) Dance Teams brought home top honors from their three day competition at the Disneyland Resort. The Showstoppers Dance competition in Anaheim hosted dancers from southern California competing for the grand trophies.
Eight of Coronado’s Mini H2A Dancers, ages 5-8 competed in the small group hip hop competition taking home the Gold for fourth place. Dancers included; Antonia Alvarez, Lola Amoia, Avery Avallone, Raquel Peralta, Lailah Pratt, Evangeline Rodgers, Lola Warren and Kalea Weed.
Winning the Platinum Award, First place in the Super Group Hip Hop Competition (ages 9-11) and First place overall were the twenty-one Junior H2A Dancers representing Coronado including Ellie Cahill, Leah Camaisa, Elyse Cohenca, Ruby DeMaio, Sydney DeMaio, Olivia Frost, Hanna Gonzalez, Faith Kalasho, Roxannne Langevin, Kaia Lobato, Delaney Lord, Pavla Marti, Bella Moffat, Belah Moore, Malia Perry, Lydia Schutt, Isabella Smith, Piper Stravers, Marina Vigil Alexa Villasenor and Sylvia Ware.
The Teen H2A Team received the platinum award and seventh place overall for their large group hip hop dance performance by 12 to 15 year olds including Constanza Alonso, Briana Anderson, Nina Camaisa, Keanna Fowler, Helena Johnson, Lacey Levy, Rylaigh Lord, Emma Mickel, Marisela Symon, Alexis Uyesugi, Kenzie Uyesugi and Liliana Valenzuela.
Coronado solo dance winners include Marisela Symon (age 13) who received third place in the Pre-Teen Jazz Solo Competition. Rylaigh Lord’s (age 13) Preteen Lyrical Dance received platinum third place in her category. Faith Kalasho (age 11) competed in Pre-teen Hip Hop and Sofia Symon in the Pre-teen Jazz Solo where she received the double platinum award, first place in her category and second place overall out of 56 competitors!
Congratulations to H2A director, Viviana Alcazar and all the amazing dancers who train at the Coronado Community Center.
