Easter Egg Hunt with a Purpose

Easter and Easter eggs just go hand-in-hand and hunting for them is half the fun (the other half is the treat inside!).

At Christ Episcopal Church, after the 9:00 a.m. service on Easter morning children will participate in an egg hunt with a twist! The eggs are not filled with candy but with “Christ Church Bucks.” The children may make a donation to one or all of three charities of their choice by placing their “bucks” in designated baskets and then receiving a special Easter treat. At the end of the hunt, the “Christ Church Bucks” will be counted, and the church will write a check to the charity for the amount in each basket, sending the money where the children choose! This year the highlighted charities are: St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, City Heights, Neighborhood Food Cupboard, Vida Joven de Mexico, and St. Mark’s Showers of Blessing ministry. We are excited to offer the children the opportunity to live into the Christ Church motto of Bridging Love and Service.

Christ Church invites you to attend the parish’s Easter services; the 6:00 a.m. Easter Vigil with a continental breakfast following, and traditional services with choir at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. There will be nursery care but no Sunday school. The parish hall will be open for little ones who need more space to roam and where parents may view the service. All Sunday services are live-streamed and available at http://www.christchurchcoronado.org/worship%20/live-stream/.

Christ Church is located at the corner of Ninth Street and C Avenue. Parking is available in the church lot directly opposite the campus on C Avenue. For more information you can contact the parish office – 619-435-4561 or visit www.christchurchcoronado.org.
