Calling All Vietnam Veterans

Are you a Coronado Vietnam Veteran? If so, the Coronado Chamber of Commerce wishes to honor you as a special guest at their Salute to the Military Ball at the Hotel Del Coronado.

The theme of this year’s annual Ball is “Coronado Remembers Vietnam Veterans.” The Ball will be held April 21, 2018. The Chamber teams with Naval Base Coronado to produce this grand evening.

The Salute the Military Ball hosts active duty military. For most of the folks attending in uniform, this is the only opportunity they have to experience a formal evening at the Hotel Del Coronado. This year’s theme makes a point to those currently serving: Coronado has a rich history of supporting our nation’s military commitments. Those of you who served during Vietnam may not have felt appreciated at that time or upon returning. So this event offers an opportunity for both Coronado and today’s active duty forces to express that thanks.

Vietnam Veteran Interviews for Video

The program at the Ball will feature a video consisting of short interviews with Coronado Vietnam Vets. If you are interested in being interviewed, please contact Mike Woiwode [email protected]; phone 619-818-1050. The program also includes presentation of the James and Sybil Stockdale Award to a military couple; and the Harry Jenkins Leadership Award to a service member.
