Baby, Tot & Preschool Classes Offered through Recreation Services

The Coronado Community Center offers recreational classes for people of all ages. Even our youngest community members benefit from enrichment classes. For babies six months to walking, we have a new Babies Bouncing the Beat Class that gives moms/dads and babies a chance to discover the magic of music.  Babies Bouncing the Beat is offered on Mondays from 9:00-9:45am.

Four days a week, children two to three years old can have fun with their peers in the Playmania program held from 9:00-11:00am at the community center. This self-directed program is for toddlers without their parents so that young children can enjoy everything from music and movement to small and large group play. Parents can choose which day(s) of the week to have their child attend Playmania since it is offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays individually. This popular program is a great introduction for children to attend to work on developing their social skills and imagination as it prepares them to attend preschool for when they are older.

In fact, many children go to Playmania, then they transition into the preschool classes offered at the community center since there are specialized classes in movement, music, sports, cooking, dance and gymnastics just for three to five year olds.

Five classes that allow three to five year olds to explore the arts and sciences through movement, dance, tumbling and music are: Explore the Five Senses on Mondays from 9:00-11:00am; Little Jammeroos Music Club on Mondays  at 11:00am; KinderDance at 9:15am and KinderGym at 10:20am on Thursdays; and  Mini Gymnastics on Tuesday at 2:45pm.

Recreation Services offers classes designed especially for babies, tots, preschoolers, children, teens and adults. These fall classes start the week of September 18. You can find detailed information on these classes on-line at www.coronado.ca.us/recreation.  For more information on these baby, tot and preschool classes or other programs, contact recreation services at (619) 522-7342.
