On Tuesday, November 1, a private service will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Coronado for Chief Petty Officer Jason Finan, who died on October 20 after sustaining injuries while deployed in Iraq.

Finan, 34, died Thursday of wounds sustained in the blast, officials said. Finan was an EOD Technician (Explosive Ordnance Device) assigned to EOD Mobile Unit Three out of Naval Amphibious Base Coronado.  He was attached to a SEAL team as support.

Following the mass, there will be a procession from the church to the cemetery for a private burial at Miramar National Cemetery.

The public is invited to pay their respects and show their support following the service with their presence along the procession route (the mass will begin at 11am and the procession is expected to begin at approximately 12:15pm).

The route will proceed from Sacred Heart Church west on 6th Street towards North Island, right on Alameda, right on 4th Street and continue east to the bridge.
