  • First Ashore Dedication:  The contractor installed the sub slab for the stone pavers and concrete mow strip and the donated “Naked Warrior” statue was installed. Crews are finalizing the irrigation lines, and will be mixing soil amendments into the soil in preparation for planting. They will core drill the pedestal for the statue anchors and sandblast the “First Ashore” lettering on the pedestal base this week. The goal is to have the majority of work completed by this week.

  • Traffic Volumes in Coronado:  The California Department of Transportation provides traffic volume information to the City from two permanent count stations located west of the San Diego-Coronado Bridge and near the Naval Amphibious Base along the Silver Strand. The hour-by-hour counts are used by the City to determine peak hour volumes, average daily traffic for both weekdays and weekends, trends and anomalies. The following graphs represent the traffic volumes into and out of Coronado via the bridge and the Silver Strand for August and September 2016. (See update online for charts of August and September.)
  • Measure A Ordinance Document:  The San Diego Association of Governments has distributed a copy of the complete “Ordinance for Measure A: San Diego County Road Repair, Transit, Traffic Relief, Safety and Water Quality and County Counsel’s Impartial Analysis” to the City. The document on the countywide measure, which will appear on every ballot in the region for the November 8 election, can be found at City Hall, 1825 Strand Way, for public review. An electronic version also can be found on the County of San Diego Registrar of Voters website at www.sdvote.com/content/rov/en/elections.html.
