Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite character from any episode of Star Wars to walk in the Star Wars Costume Parade. Activities continue until 8:00pm when the grand finale of the event, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is shown on the Big Screen.
The seventh film of the series, Disney’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens takes place 30 years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, as it follows Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron’s search for Luke Skywalker, the last of the Jedi Knights. This film received five Academy Award nominations and stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes to Coronado as the first feature film of Coronado’s Movies on the Bay Series. For movie viewing, it is suggested to bring a blanket or beach chair to sit on and a jacket to keep warm. Also, families should bring a picnic to enjoy during the fest.
