Please join Blue Star Families and Theatre Communications Group (TCG) for BASETRACK on Friday, June 20th, from 5:00-6:30pm.
Blue Star Theatres, TCG’s program to build stronger connections between the theatre community and military families, is proud to host BASETRACK.
BASETRACK is a multimedia performance based on the real words of modern-day Marines and their families, co-produced by Anne Hamburger/En Garde Productions and Edward Bilous.
Using photos and video from journalists embedded with Marines in Afghanistan, a live score and text adapted by Jason Grote, BASETRACK shares the stories of those stationed abroad and their families as they struggle to cope with separation and the uncertainties of war.
Through performance and online interactivity, BASETRACK raises awareness, promotes communication and focuses national attention on the issues facing our returning veterans.
A 10-15 minute excerpt of the piece will be performed, followed by a discussion moderated by Art DeGroat, Director of Military Affairs, Kansas State University.
