Meet the New Canine Mayor of Coronado

After a month of campaigning and another month of voting, the new PAWS of Coronado Canine Mayor was announced by human Coronado Mayor Casey Tanaka at last evening’s Inauguration.

The winner and new Canine Mayor of Coronado with 4677 votes is Bently James!

His Vice Mayor with 2244 votes is Blade.

The other 16 Caninedates make up the Canine Council.

It was a wonderful field of Caninedates and truly every dog is a winner.

Last minute voting

Over 5000 votes were cast during the last two days of the election! Votes were primarily cast online through the PAWS PayPal account, but the voting box at the Flower Show was responsible for many of the last minute votes.

Votes came in from across the US – in addition to California voters, the Caninedates had supporters in Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Hawaii, Kansas, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington and Wyoming.
