As was reflected in the original news story reporting the arrest in Glendale of the individuals alleged to have been involved in the credit-card skimming operation, no information has yet to be discovered indicating that the culprits were successful in retrieving any credit card information from the Coronado 76 Station.
When Detectives first contacted Coronado 76 and the gas pumps were inspected, it was discovered that two card-reading devices had been placed within the credit card processing areas. Coronado 76 officials immediately removed those devices and they are in the possession of investigators. Apparently, the locking devices of all major gasoline pumps are universal and might be accessible with a master key. To assure that similar events can not occur, Coronado 76 has installed double safety locks with keys that are unique to Coronado 76 only on all of its pumps, and will continue to monitor efforts by the local police agencies to determine whether any of its customers’ information has been compromised. At this time, it appears that any information gathered at the location by the two hidden devices had not been retrieved by the individuals responsible.
Coronado 76 will continue in its efforts to assure that customer safety and satisfaction remain their number one priority. If anybody has any further questions or concerns -regarding this matter please feel free to contact management Ray Bahri 619-435-0076.
