A new retail store, The Bay Company, is a step closer to selling sportswear and souvenir gifts at 1106 Orange Avenue which is currently occupied by Central Drug. eCoronado.com reported last month that Central Drug was for lease. Central Drug has been serving Coronado since 1893.
The Bay Company has two other locations in San Diego (Seaport Village – see photos) and San Francisco (Fisherman’s Wharf – see photo). We spoke to employees at both locations and they confirmed that the type of merchandise sold includes: apparel, gifts, magnets, sunglasses, flip-flops and other souvenir goods. eCoronado.com contacted the management for a quote regarding the Coronado location, but calls were not immediately returned. They do not have a website for their company, however, you can see photos inside their Seaport Village location by clicking here.
The Coronado Design Review Commission will be meeting December 12th at 3pm to review designs proposed by Bay Company. Below are two screenshots from the Design Review Commission agenda for the upcoming meeting at City Council chambers (1825 Strand Way). These meetings are open to the public if they wish to attend.

You can read the entire agenda here.
