Video from the Coronado CAN! Community-Wide Candidate Forum Now Online

More details and forum results can be found here:

Surf’s Up Studios did a great job for us on the video, and for all voters in Coronado. Thank you Surf’s Up!

When you watch the video you see all the candidates at their best, and can really take in the details you need to help you make your ballot decisions. We highly recommend viewing it if you have the time.

And in combination with our Voter’s Guide, which you can download or view on our website, you can get the most complete package of information about all of the issues in Coronado, precisely how the candidates view them, and precisely what the differences between the candidates are.

  • Are there real traffic solutions that can be implemented now? Some candidates think so, some do not.
  • Are the new loading/unloading zones at the beach a good thing? Some candidates think so, some do not.
  • Is former City Manager Mark Ochenduszko’s $146,659 pension (after working in Coronado for just 15 years) too much? Some candidates think so, some do not.
  • Was it a good idea for previous Councils to water-down the recommendations of the RSIP committees, that otherwise would have had more of an affect on building density than they did? Some candidates think so, some do not.

Answers each candidate provided on these and 52 other similar issues at our Forum are all recorded in our Voter’s Guide. It makes for interesting reading.

And in the video you see them answering questions about traffic, the beach, City finances, building density, code enforcement, and so forth.

Here’s just one of the comments we received on our Forum:

KUDOS TO CORONADO CAN! What a forum!
The presentation was inventive, giving each candidate
an opportunity to state his/her position on each issue
without unnecessary verbalization; but all had a chance
to speak on various subjects that were presented.
The time just flew by.

And we learned a lot about many issues
and the candidates’ positions. That’s why we were there.

Congratulations to all of you on many jobs well done.
Getting Gene Cubbison as moderator was a stroke of genius,
the format was clever, and everything came together beautifully.

A 4.0 to everyone.

Coronado CAN! wishes all candidates the best of luck on November 6th!
