Thanks to Coach Tony Isabella, CHS Varsity Head Coach, for providing this recap. We played Francis Parker High School on Friday night. It was a tough night. We went up against a very good and experienced Lancers team. We came out on the short end 42-3.

Parker put together a very good offensive game plan. They were able to keep us off balance in the first half scoring 35 points. After a few of adjustments we were able to hold them to 7 points in the second half. Junior Jordan Narramore, our quarterback, had a rough debut. He transferred from Ramona HS this year and is learning a new offense. He will be just fine. He threw 24 passes with 9 completed for 86 yards.
Sophomore Austin Rumbo was our leading receiver with 5 catches for 39 yards. Senior and team co-captain Jake Shepherd was our games leading rusher with 115 yards including a spectacular 86 yard run. Other offensive contributors were senior Mason Copp and junior Josh East.
Defensively senior and co-captain Ryan Halvorson led the team with 10 assist and 4 tackles. Other defensive contributors were junior Robbie Weissenfels, senior Johnnie McCaull, and senior Colin Sweeney. Punter junior Zack Kozlik had 7 punts (not a good thing) for a 35.8 yard average. He had three punts over 42 yards. Weissenfels scored our only points with a 36 yard field goal.
Coronado JV won their game 33-7.
Next up will be a Friday night 7pm home game vs Santa Fe Christian. They’re are coming off a 41-39 loss to Capistrano Valley HS.
