Jeff Bunker posted a note about the donation request on a special Facebook page created in his son’s memory.
A sundown memorial service is planned for 4 p.m. Friday on the beach near the Hotel del Coronado. A reception will follow in one of the hotel’s ballrooms.
Bunker said he and Dylan’s mother, Kathleen Wonders, were trying to figure out his burial plans when some friends said Dylan had told them that if he ever died, he wanted to be cremated and have some of his ashes spread at Lifeguard Tower 5 in Coronado’s North Beach and the rest along Oahu’s North Shore.
