SanDiego.com Snags 18 Press Club Awards Including Best Website

SAN DIEGO, Oct 25 /PRNewswire/ — SanDiego.com, a leading source of San Diego news and entertainment, has won 18 awards by the San Diego Press Club, including Best General Interest Website and a Best of Show Award. The 37th annual Excellence In Journalism awards ceremony, hosted earlier this week in San Diego’s famed Balboa Park, celebrates the accomplishments of the working press, honors lifetime achievements and recognizes the promise of the future of journalism.

This year’s event ended with a twist of irony for the 16-year-old SanDiego.com. The media outlet won a Best of Show award for an opinion piece by its Editor-in-Chief, which takes a wry look ‘back’ at the future of San Diego journalism. It also took first place in the category of General Interest Website, and awards in the Overall Entertainment and Overall News categories. The significant recognition by the Press Club represents yet another milestone for SanDiego.com, which has grown tremendously in content and reach in recent months, according to Editor-in-Chief Ron Donoho.

“I’m very pleased with the success we had at the Press Club awards,” exclaimed Donoho. “The entire staff shares in the credit for being named San Diego’s No. 1 General Interest Website. We are nothing less than ecstatic. I especially want to thank our core of terrific writers, who make our Website a truly dynamic place.”

Donoho went on to say that SanDiego.com will continue to leverage its award-winning writers and myriad local insiders in order to provide readers with compelling, high-quality content not available anywhere else on the Internet or in any media outlet in San Diego County.

From business and entertainment communities to neighborhood-specific updates and event coverage, SanDiego.com connects audiences to the 8th largest city in the United States. Founded in 1994, SanDiego.com evolved from a destination-focused travelers’ portal to a trusted online news source for locals and visitors alike.
