Hotel del Coronado Announces Inaugural “Hallo-wine & Spirits” Party
Saturday, October 30

Coronado, CA —The Hotel del Coronado is world-renowned for its 122-year history of hosting celebrities, presidents and dignitaries from around the world. The legendary resort is almost equally infamous for its ghostly visitors, which have reportedly been around for almost as long as the hotel itself. Though supernatural stories abound, most have to do with Kate Morgan, a beautiful young woman who checked into the hotel in 1892 – and never checked out. After spending five lonely and lovesick days waiting for a man who never arrived, Kate was found dead on an exterior staircase leading to the beach. Kate had a gunshot wound to her head, which the San Diego County Coroner later determined was self-inflicted (some skepticism still surrounds this finding). Since then, the hotel has continuously received accounts of strange occurrences: lights and fans that go on and off by themselves, slamming doors, books that fly off shelves, bed covers that are suddenly pulled back by no one, excessive noise coming from the room above (reported by guests on the top floor) and even several sightings of a ghostly figure adorned in Victorian attire.

How then is it possible that a location with such high incidence of haunt phenomena has never before hosted a Halloween celebration? After all, we’ve already got the spirits, all we have to add is the wine! So don your favorite costume and join us for San Diego’s best adults-only “Hallo-wine and Spirits” Party.

Trick- or- Treat Reception

The fun begins at 7pm in the ghoulishly decorated Garden Patio with grown-up trick-or-treating as you venture from station-to-station and enjoy a variety of wine, cheese and chocolate tastings from ENO.

And, keep an eye out for a special guest appearance from Kate Morgan.
