Dear friends,
We in Coronado have been blessed to have Mrs. Karien Bennett as our neighbor and friend for over 20 years. She has raised two daughters here (both graduates of Coronado High School) and is raising Austin, a wonderful 11-year-old boy. Karien is active in the community and in the schools; she is always the first to extend a hand to anyone in need. All who know her admire her for her kindness, generosity, and selflessness.
Now, Karien needs our help. Her 29-year old daughter, Lecinda, has been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor called a Glioma. Like others affected by the current economy, Lecinda does not have full coverage health insurance. She is facing a mounting health care bill that will continue to grow as she prepares for upcoming surgery and treatments. The costs incurred for medical care have already overwhelmed the resources of this family.
Our wonderful community has several exciting fundraiser planned for this month with more to follow in the upcoming months.
