1906 Lodge voted #1 Bed and Breakfast in San Diego County

The votes are in and Coronado’s newest hotel, the 1906 Lodge, was chosen as the #1 Bed and Breakfast in San Diego County! Competing against 2 dozen possible candidates, the 1906 Lodge’s fans showed their loyalty by voting online as part of the 2010 Union Tribune Best of San Diego awards.

Sue Gillingham, co-owner and general manager, was thrilled. “It is hugely gratifying to receive recognition at the county level. We opened last summer in a tough economy. Our neighbors in Coronado helped spread the word and sent their friends and family our way. We’ve focused on giving our guests an exceptional experience and it has paid off!”

The 1906 Lodge is centered around a 103 year old boarding house one block off of Orange Avenue at 1060 Adella Avenue. Four couples rescued it from its dilapidated state and restored it as a small hotel. All 17 guest rooms and suites are individually appointed to honor a person or place from Coronado’s past. The owners were able to retain the charm of the historic roots but incorporate 5 star amenities such as fireplaces, spa tubs, refrigerators, and HD TVs.

Whether you are looking for romance, relaxation, or a business retreat, the 1906 Lodge is the ideal destination. Room rates start at $179 and include a gourmet breakfast, afternoon wine and snacks, and secure underground parking. Conference space is available for meetings and/or private meals.
