Now, the former star of “Walker: Texas Ranger” may soon conquer the “flugtag.”
At least in spirit, because the actual work is being done by “Team Roundhouse,” a group of five naval air crewmen who are part of the Helicopter Maritime Strike Weapons School at North Island Naval Air Station in Coronado, Calif., in anticipation of the Red Bull Flugtag Race scheduled for Aug. 21 in Long Beach, Calif.
The event, which has been organized and sponsored by Red Bull energy drink since 1991, basically requires teams of five people to create their own bizarre human-powered flying machines and push them off a 30-foot-high flight deck over deep water.
Five naval air crewmen in Coronado, Calif., say Chuck Norris inspired them to create a flugtag, a bizarre contraption that is powered by four humans pushing it over deep water. The men — who call themselves Team Roundhouse — will test their machine on Aug. 21 at the Red Bull Flugtag Races in Long Beach, Calif.
