Junior attackman Jacob Lujan added two points on a goal and an assist to help the Islanders (1-2) snap a two-game losing streak and pick up their first win of the season. Junior middie Sergio Flores and senior middie Kodie Englhart each added a goal to round out the Coronado attack.
Coronado has only scored 17 times in three games, but the Islanders overcame a fourth-quarter deficit Thursday by scoring the game’s final three goals.
Defensively, the Islanders held Poway to just eight shots on cage.
