Coronado’s Newest Learning Academy

Parents now have another opportunity to give their children a quality education that also enriches their character. Dunamis Academy, formerly Dunamis Learning Center, now in it’s 10th year has moved to El Dorado Square located at 1224 10th Street, Suite 103 (phone#: 619-319-5887, email: [email protected]). Owner, Jo Sand, long time resident of Coronado, has taken over the school and enlarged it to reach grades one through twelve. Dunamis Academy is for that student that is extremely bright but not challenged by the traditional school setting. We also target that child who may be struggling to try to keep up with his classmates and falling behind. At the Academy, there is no “keeping up” with your fellow classmate as everyone works at their own level and own pace. Our curriculum, PACE’s,offered by Accelerated Christian Education is a self-paced, accredited, character building curriculum that allows for flexibility with each student. Our students are tested and then placed into each subject at the level where they will experience success right from the beginning. We have a low student/teacher ratio that enables the children to get more individualized instruction. We also offer a variety of extra-curricular classes, i.e., Sign Language, Public Speaking, Spanish, Music Appreciation, Music Theory and Piano, Life Skills (Etiquette, sewing, etc.) and Creative Writing.
