CHS Boys’ Water Polo Beats Cathedral Catholic in Tight Game

Last Thursday, the boys’ water polo team made their way up to Cathedral Catholic High School and played a close game throughout. The first quarter was extremely defensive, said Coach Castillo, having no goals scored by the end. The second and third quarter took a turn for the offensive. Coronado began to consistently score, leading the second quarter. By the third quarter, Cathedral caught up on the board. By the end, Coronado prevailed by one point with a final score 8-7.

Coronado has an excellent team and saw high performance from many players. Defensively, freshman Teddy Oliver, as always, saved the Islanders from many of Cathedral’s potential goals, and Kyle Cook prevented Cathedral’s advancement in the game. Offensively, Mason Farley and Andy Rodgers scored the majority of Coronado’s goals.

We wish them luck tonight against Bishop’s and Thursday against University City! Head to the BBMAC for these two home games and cheer on the team – Go Islanders!
