Raymond Liddy, 53, was arrested July 25th in his Coronado home for possession of images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Liddy pleaded not guilty and was released after paying a $100,000 bond and put on home detention with GPS monitoring. The attorney general’s office confirmed that Liddy has been placed on administrative leave. Liddy is due in court for a preliminary hearing on August 8.
According to the complaint, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a tip from an electronic service provider that an IP address at Liddy’s home location had uploaded multiple images of apparent child pornography. It was determined that the FBI and the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) should be brought in to investigate.
The FBI obtained and executed a federal search warrant for the email account associated with the IP address and location. After interviewing Raymond Liddy at his Coronado residence, he admitted using the email address (along with screen names) relevant to the investigation. Further, Liddy claimed that the majority of sexual images he downloaded and uploaded were of adults.
“During a preliminary forensic review of digital media located at the residence, agents found numerous images depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on a computer and a thumb drive.” “Liddy admitted that the thumb drive and computer belonged to him, along with the contents of the same.”

According to Liddy’s LinkedIn bio (now deleted), he earned his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University, a law degree from the same university’s school of law and a master’s degree from the United States Army War College in Pennsylvania.
Raymond Liddy is the son of G. Gordon Liddy, who helped organize the burglary of the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate scandal.
