City Manager’s Weekly Update – January 6, 2017

* Naval Base Coronado CO Captain Scott Mulvehill to discuss NASNI flight patterns during January meeting. Community encouraged to attend.
* Beach portable restroom moved for winter and for maintenance.
* Spreckels Park restroom project update.
* Plan for walking & biking in Coronado – stakeholder advisory committee meeting to be followed by public workshop.
* Minimum wage increases.


Each week, the City Manager’s Office provides an update that includes information on programs, services and issues within the City, as well as news, project updates and follow-up information when necessary.

  • January Naval Complexes Meeting:  Naval Base Coronado Commanding Officer Capt. Scott Mulvehill will address the topic of Naval Air Station North Island flight patterns and general air operations during the January Naval Complexes meeting. The community is encouraged to attend. The meeting is set for 3 p.m. on Monday, January 23, at City Hall, 1825 Strand Way.
  • Active Transportation Master Plan:  The City continues to develop a thoughtful plan for the future of walking and biking in Coronado. The third meeting of the Stakeholder Advisory Committee, a group of residents who are acting as a temporary sounding board for City staff, is set for January 19. The group is providing input for the Active Transportation Master Plan, a comprehensive identification and prioritization of non-automobile transportation issues affecting Coronado. The first public workshop will follow the stakeholder meeting on February 22.
