Coronado Junior Woman’s Club is presenting its annual $2,000 Marilyn Foster Scholarship. The award will honor a Coronado High School class of 2016 young woman who is interested in establishing a commitment to her community.
The CJWC is currently accepting applications for the scholarship. Eligible applicants should have plans to attend a higher education institution in fall 2016.
April 30 is the deadline for the scholarship.
Candidates can submit an application online at coronadojuniorwomans.org. Additionally, the application is available at the CHS front office.
The scholarship, named for one of Coronado’s beloved philanthropists, honors the legacy of the late Mrs. Marilyn Foster who was known for her steadfast dedication to serving the Coronado community. She was best known for her involvement in the community as a military spouse, an award-winning gardener and being an active member of the CJWC. Foster believed that a community was only as strong as the people who made it. This scholarship is aimed at identifying the next generation of Marilyn Fosters, to honor the contributions young women make in their own community.
Thank you for your interest and best of luck to the ladies of the CHS class of 2016!
