San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus to Perform at the Spreckels Center Oct. 10

The John D. Spreckels Center is pleased to announce the inaugural event in the Spreckels Music Series. On Thursday, October 10, 6 – 8:15 pm, 35 members of the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus will perform selections from Motown and The Music of Cher, two of their previous concerts. The event will be held at the John D. Spreckels Center, located at 1019 Seventh St. Under the leadership of Artistic Director RC Haus and Executive Director Jeff Heine, the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus is celebrating its 34th anniversary of changing lives one voice at a time. With more than 300 members, it is one of the largest gay choruses in the world and has sung at locations including the White House, the Super Bowl and Lincoln Center. The Chorus performs in front of tens of thousands of San Diegans each year including sold-out shows at the historic Balboa Theatre in downtown San Diego. The group’s official mission is to create a positive musical experience through exciting performances that engage audiences, build community support and provide a dynamic force for social change. The cost for the performance is $30 for Coronado residents and $37 for nonresidents and includes a reception from 6-7 p.m. with light refreshments and beverages provided. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. We expect this event to sell out quickly, so reserve your tickets now.

The Spreckels Music Series is a new initiative to host high caliber music performances at the center. The events will engage the 50+ audience in the community and offer a diverse mix of performances that compliment other offerings in the community.
