Last Thursday around 8:45pm, a single car accident occurred at the intersection of F Ave and First Street. According to Coronado Police Department spokesperson, Lea Corbin, witnesses said that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision with a tree.
Corbin shared that the driver is an unlicensed 18 year old male from National City and that alcohol and drugs do not not seem to be a factor. The driver sustained injuries and was transported to a San Diego hospital. The collision is still under investigation.
