San Diego Jewish Men’s Choir Coming to the Coronado Library

The Library will host a Chanukah Concert on Sunday, December 22nd at 2p.m. The San Diego Jewish Men’s Choir will perform in the Winn Room. The ensemble has been performing for over sixteen years to preserve and promote Jewish choral music. Under the musical direction of Ruth Weber, they have been featured on the Chabad Telethon, in the documentary, Forever Strong, and as back-up singers for the Grammy nominated children’s artist Mr. G. They perform music of all styles including, liturgical, pop, folk, gospel and musical theater singing sing in Hebrew, English, Yiddish, and Ladino. The San Diego Jewish Times has declared their Chanukah Concert “a Sweet Confection.”

Their first album, Heritage is a compilation of historically significant Jewish Choral Music which received awards at the Global Music Awards in 2014 and earned “a big mazel tov” from The L’ Chaim Magazine. The choir’s second album, Kochi includes beautiful arrangements by Grammy-award-winning composer/producer Ricky Kej featuring timeless Jewish melodies blended with traditional Indian instrumentation.

This concert is free and open to the public thanks to the Friends of the Library.
