From new venues to nightly bell ringing ~ lots of things are happening at The Del this summer. From the unveiling of the newly renovated outdoor, ocean-view Vista Walk event space, the opening of Serẽa, the new signature sea-to table restaurant, the Veuve Clicquot Camper Bar, The Art of Shaving Barbershop, to the Del Beach Bash and Fireworks, Movies on the Beach, Painting by the Sea and the remodeling of the retail stores.

The Del Bell

The Del also announced the start of a new sunset ritual involving the ringing of a historic bell, which leaders of the resort hope will inspire guests to gather and reflect on meaningful moments of togetherness. At sunset every day, everyone is invited to join in the tradition of taking a moment to connect with the calming elements of the sun and sea and say goodbye to another day of life well lived. Listen for the sound of the bell!

Veuve Clicquot Camper Bar

Trailers are trendy and they’re pulling in at The Del for locals and guests to enjoy July 2 through 6 from noon to 5 pm. Swing by for a glass of bubbly or a cocktail and grown up games, like giant Jenga on the Paseo Lawn North. You won’t want to miss this new Lawn Lounge by Veuve Clicquot with a 21+ area for adults, featuring a full bar highlighting a “Bikini Riche” specialty drink.

Art of Shaving Beach Barbershop

On Saturdays, from June 28 through Labor Day, except August 3, experience a Barbershop on the beach.  Belly up to the barber chair for a shave or haircut by experts from the Art of Shaving. Enjoy a grooming service in a too-cool custom Airstream on Del Beach. Visit the bar for a selection of bourbons and other fine spirits to enjoy while taking in the ocean air. The annual Del Beach Bash and Fireworks will be July 2 from 7 pm to 10 pm on North Beach with Dancing to the Mighty Untouchables. Food and beverage sales will be onsite.  Cost is $30 per person for admission and children ages five and under are free.

The Del’s famous fireworks display will kick off the 4th of July celebration at approximately 8:45 pm on July 2. A ticket to Del Beach Bash gets you front row seats to the fireworks, but of course they can be seen from pretty much anywhere on the island.

Movies on the Beach are fun and free, if you bring your own blanket. Chairs, food and beverage can be purchased onsite. Upcoming movies include:

June 28: Hook (1985)
July 6: Top Gun (1986)
July 13: Mary Poppins Returns (2018)
July 20: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
July 26: Some Like it Hot (1959)
July 27: The Goonies (1985)
