Construction will begin on the Second and Orange Parklets project beginning on Monday, April 8. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of June at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Second Street. The project includes new bus stop seating, raised planters to give the space a more three-dimensional feel, tables and chairs to expand the dining experience, and decorative medallions of stamped and colored concrete. The project is designed to provide pedestrians a park-like experience in the business district. Traffic will be open in both directions during construction with some lane closures as needed. All lanes will be open before 7 a.m. and after 2:30 p.m. Pedestrian traffic flow will be rerouted on sidewalks, and all sections will be accessible.
