Volleyball: CHS Girls Fall to Montgomery High in CIF Playoffs

The Islanders finish their season with a tough loss against Montgomery High School 1-3 in sets.

Last week, Coronado’s Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team competed in the post-season CIF Division-III Playoffs. As the No. 10-seed in the tournament, the Islanders faced Montgomery High School in the first round of this single-elimination tournament. Although the Islanders dropped the first set 24-26, Megan Thoroman and Delaney Dunham played great offense throughout the game. “The girls played with heart and had the mindset to win, but unforced errors and not making adjustments cost us the game,” says Coach Adeile Ahmu. Unfortunately, the girls’ team was only able to take the third set, and fell 1-3 by end of the fourth.

Coronado finished the season with 3 wins to 6 losses in league matches and 9 to 19 overall.
