The City of Coronado has 19 public courts between the Village and the Cays. Another eight are located in the Shores, but those are private (unless you have a friend at the Shores willing to invite you to play). Needless to say, the courts in Coronado are heavily used by local enthusiasts and tennis continues to be a very popular sport.
If you not only love playing the game, but watching the top tennis pros, the “5th Slam” of tennis is taking place just a few short hours “off island” in Indian Wells, CA: The 2018 BNP Paribas Open (March 5-18, 2018)
The BNP hosts the top ATP men and the top WTA women tennis players from all over the world. Stadium 1 has 16,000 seats and 44 suits and is the second largest tennis stadium in the world.
