The Girls’ Varsity Water Polo team played two games this past week–the first against Carlsbad High School on Wednesday, December 13. Carlsbad played at Coronado’s BBMAC pool in a tight match that the Islanders won with a final score of 9-8. Ryan Sund has been the top offensive player with the most assists and the most goals.

On Friday, December 15, the team traveled to Santa Margarita to play. Although Coronado fell 7-17, Ryan Sund, once again, led the team in goals. Goalkeeper Isabel Zaller has been at the top of her game as well, blocking a good amount of attempts. Zaller will be playing for Princeton University’s water polo team next fall.

The team record is now two wins to three losses.

Upcoming Games:

Thursday, December 21 vs. Los Alamitos High School at Oceanview High School @ 5:00 PM
