League play comes to a close, but the CHS Girls’ Volleyball team will continue on to CIFs in November. Last week, they gained a win against Mission Bay High School and a loss against Christian High School.

Tuesday’s match against Christian went to five long sets. The first set was won by Christian, set score being 18-25. After gaining some momentum, Coronado dominated the second set at 25-13 and, although they lost the third set, kept close with Christian at 24-26. Once again, Coronado dominated in the fourth, but lost in a close fifth set, with a score of 13-15. This was the second time Coronado lost to Christian High school this season.

Two days later, Coronado went to Mission Bay High School for an easy win, finishing in three straight sets. Caroline Massie (setter) and Izzy LaRoe continue to dominate the volleyball as they have throughout the season. The team’s overall record resulted in 10 wins to 11 losses, this with having played up a division. The league record was 3 wins to 5 losses, which should put them in 7-9 seed in CIF Division III Tournament.
