New Entra Casa Celebrates 45 Years of Service

St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Coronado is proud to support the New Entra Casa home in North Park for women in transition from prison. Church members attended a luncheon on June 10th which included a fashion show by some of the residents. The event was enjoyed by all in attendance.


About New Entra Casa 
Provides room and board and support services to female ex-offenders. Clothing and personal items are donated by church and community groups. Counseling is offered and referrals are provided to assist with employment, skills training, and school placement or counseling. Advocates for clients with other agencies, employers, and during judicial proceedings. Works with clients and Child Protective Services on reunification plans mandated by the courts.
Transportation is provided for employment, school, medical appointments, etc. Program length is 6-8 months. Follow-up services provided by volunteers include a larder starter (basic home equipment, linens, and food) given to clients when they leave to start their own home. Facility provides 6 beds. Clients who perform well during the aforementioned phase of the program may be eligible to transfer to transitional housing (5 separate dwellings). To continue to live in transitional housing, clients must remain clean and sober and hold a job. Fees and length of stay vary for transitional housing.
