Coronado Council of Churches presents Service for Christian Unity
The year 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. This milestone will be the focus of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity by the Coronado Council of Churches on Sunday, January 22, 6:00 p.m., at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1111 5th Street, Coronado.
Presenting a Roman Catholic perspective will be Msgr. Dennis Mikulanis, Ecumenical Officer for the Catholic Diocese of San Diego. A Lutheran point of view will be offered by the Rev. Paul Bieber of All Saints Lutheran Church, San Diego. The choir of the Coronado Community Church, directed by Andy Hamilton, will be joined by choirs from other local churches that will gather for a brief rehearsal on Thursday, January 19, 7:00 p.m., at Resurrection Church. The Prelude for the celebration will be offered by the Hovland Chimes Choir of Resurrection Church, directed by Joan McColly.
