Sunday, December 11 at 5pm
Dust off your bike, decorate it, grab your helmet and bike lights and join a few hundred of your closest friends and neighbors for the Bicycle Advisory Committee’s fourth annual Ride the Lights. We’ll meet at the bandstand in Spreckels Park for a 5:00 p.m. push off. It’s a two and a half mile course down Sixth Street to Pomona, right on Pomona, then up Adella to Tenth Street, and then up and down A, B, and C Avenues back to Spreckels Park.
There will be cookies, hot chocolate, and carolers awaiting you in Spreckels!
Naturally, there are a few rules:
- Ride predictably and obey all traffic laws and police officers.
- You must have a front headlight and a rear reflector.
- Helmets are required for all participants under 18, and children under thirteen must be accompanied by an adult.
- Most important rule: HAVE FUN!
This event could not happen without the generous support of Coronado Private Bank, Clayton’s Coffee Shop, Hannah’s Monster Cookies, and Mrs. Linda Kullman and the Middle School Choir. As always, Holland’s Bicycles, the City’s Recreation Department, and the country’s coolest Police Department have come up big!
Finally, if you are reading this and live on A, B, C Avenues, Sixth Street, Pomona and Adella please get out and hang up your holiday lights. We want something to look at and enjoy!
