Richard Sepolio Arrested After 4 Killed in San Diego-Coronado Bridge Accident (Video)

Yesterday afternoon, a pick-up truck was traveling towards Coronado on the west-bound onramp, lost control, struck a guard rail and plunged 60 feet onto Chicano Park directly onto a vendor tent during a motorcycle festival in the park.  Four people were killed and nine injured that were participating in the festival.   The driver was transported to UCSD hospital with major injuries.

Authorities identified the driver of the pick-up truck as 25-year-old, Richard Sepolio, an active-duty Navy sailor stationed in Coronado.  Sepolio has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs causing injury or death, California Highway Patrol Officer Jake Sanchez said.

CHP identified the deceased as a 62-year-old man and 50-year-old woman from Chandler, Arizona, and a 59-year-old man and 49-year-old woman from Hacienda Heights.  Names of the victims were not immediately released by authorities.

In 2004, a pick-up truck merging onto the San Diego-Coronado Bridge was hit by a bus and went over the side of the bridge landing the train tracks near Harbor Drive in Barrio Logan.  The 49-year-old driver, Orlando Casinio, was killed.
