BLUEWATER BOATHOUSE
HAS GONE TO THE DOGS
We may never know who let the dogs out, but Bluewater Boathouse let the dogs in this month as the popular seafood restaurant turns the patio areas into dog-friendly dining.
Beginning Monday, April 13, leash-friendly dogs will be invited to join their masters for dining on Bluewater Boathouse’s two outdoor patios overlooking Glorietta Bay.
Both dogs and masters will receive a special “Local’s Discount” on lunch that day. To further celebrate the canine opening at Bluewater Boathouse a special doggie menu, called “FIDO FARE,” has been created by the chefs.

Local animal rights group, Coronado PAWS, has endorsed the dog menu and their logo will appear on the FIDO FARE menu along with a number of dog-friendly, specialty meals. Their endorsement appears amidst a flurry of paw prints and the words, “Bluewater Boathouse gets the PAW(S) of Approval.”
The dog menu includes House Made Bark Treats (rolled oats, peanut butter, panko and honey); The Water Dog or Bird Dog (tuna or chicken, steamed green rice and raw vegetables); and The Cow Hound’s Meat “Roaff” (ground beef, steamed green rice, raw vegetables and crumbled milk bone).
Camp Run-A-Mutt will be one of the groups participating in Monday’s affair. They will have a booth on site to introduce guests to their programs throughout San Diego County – programs such as daycare, grooming and boarding, and their innovative playgrounds and water parks for dogs.
“How can you not be dog-friendly in this day and age,” said Bluewater Boathouse general manager Steve Ewing, owner of two rascally Beagles. “We’ve been asked so many times about our policies re customers bringing their dogs to lunch that we decided to make it official.”

All menu items sell for $4, but each visiting pooch receives a couple of free appetizer doggie treats as well. Bluewater Boathouse will also offer a special “Yappy Hour” every Monday, beginning April 13, from 3-6 p.m.
Ewing hopes that once a month he can bring a pet-themed group to the restaurant focusing on awareness of pet health care, training programs and other services designed for dogs throughout our region.
The entire family of Bluewater restaurants is reconfirming its commitment to dog-friendliness in 2015 by ensuring a minimum level of canine creature comforts at each Bluewater location.
Although slightly different at each of the eight Bluewater restaurants, the experience will be consistent from restaurant to restaurant with inclusion of a dog water dish and complimentary dog treats. Reflecting the company’s localized neighborhood appeal, individual Bluewater restaurants are adding dog-friendly events, special promotions, menus and other extras to the mix.
