Congratulations to Coronado Youth Soccer League’s Select Boys’ BU11W team, and Head Coach Joao Brantuas for a great season. The team finished the year with a Final 4 placing in the Cal South Governor’s State Cup!

Beginning Jan 24th, 2015, Nado Bu11W commenced preliminary play in the Cal South Governor’s State Cup, with 88 teams in contention for the coveted State Cup Title. In the first round, Nado won 2 games and lost 1, advancing to the round of 64 teams in Lancaster, California. Nado Bu11W advanced from the round of 64 teams, to 32, to 16, and the quarter finals and semifinals, traveling for the tournament to both Lancaster and San Bernardino. With each win the team earned the opportunity to play another game and travel for another weekend, stretching their tournament experience over three total weekends.

Saturday, February 7th, Nado played a quarterfinal match in San Bernardino, taking the win with a score of 2-0. They advanced to the semifinals Saturday afternoon, playing Southwestern FC. With a heartbreaking last minute goal by the opponent, Nado lost 2-3.

The boys left it all on the field, giving their best effort. Over the course of the tournament, the team played a total of 8 games, earning a 6-2 record, with 28 goals for and 7 against.

Thank you Coach Joao for a great season, and to the Nado Bu11W families for supporting the boys until the end! Congratulations on such a wonderful achievement and for representing CYSL and the community of Coronado.
