Many thanks to General James Bierman who was Master of Ceremonies for the Coronado July 4 Parade

My mother and I (Mom is a Marine Corps Veteran) attended the famous Coronado July 4 parade as we have for many years. Our family, including my late father Col. Robert A. Bonadio USMC, make it a yearly tradition.

We were especially proud and grateful this year having General James Bierman, USMC ( C.O MCRD ), as Master of Ceremonies. Not only did we observe Gen. Bierman saluting the brave Iwo Jima and Pearl Harbor survivors (pictured above) as they passed by in cars, he actually went out into the parade and shook each and every hand of the survivors and personally thanked them for their service. We saw the look on these survivors faces and can’t thank Gen. Bierman enough for such respect. It is our recollection of previous years that this is the first time a Master of Ceremonies actually went into the moving parade and thanked each and every brave survivor.

Semper Fi Gen. Bierman!
