I have been appearing with my horses in the Coronado 4th of July parade since 1971. In 2003, I lost my house, and all my photos, in the Cedar Fire. I am hoping that some of you might have photos of me in those 43 years with my horses.
Do you by any chance have photos of the horse entries from past parades? Perhaps you could email copies to me?
I started out riding a brown horse and wearing a Fancy / glittery western outfit. Then I had an authentic Navajo costume. By the time I started riding my silver side saddle, I was riding a big pinto horse. One year, I led the parade riding her and leading her pinto baby.
By the 80’s, I had formed the Miniature Horse Cavalacade, a group of miniature horses, several of which were mine. I was still a single entry, and a few years, I went through as a single horse person, then joined the group. When you started seeing miniature horses taking the City of Coronado and State of California flags, those were my horses. You may have seen us this year with the flags.
If you aren’t sure if the photos are me or not, go ahead and send them. I really appreciate this.
Please email them to me at [email protected]
Thank you very much, both for being such a great town for a parade every year and also for any photos you find.
