Memorial Service aboard the USS Midway, January 17, 2014, for all those interested in supporting the families.
In late September of last year, a Navy MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter was lost in the Red Sea. Two crew members died in that crash and both were stationed at Naval Air Station North Island right here in Coronado.
Tomorrow we honor the lives of Lt. Cmdr. Landon L. Jones and Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jonathan Shelby Gibson. Both men were assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 6.
Jones, 35, was from Lompoc, California, a 2001 Naval Academy graduate and Gibson, 32, of Aurora, Colorado was commissioned in December 2008.
All interested parties are invited to attend. Your presence will be most appreciated.
