Walgreens will be celebrating its Grand Opening this Saturday with fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. The event starts at 10 am with a bounce house and face painting for children. Different vendors will be attending giving away free goods to event goers and Walgreens will be offering free food and refreshments. Not to mention there will be some great in-store specials.

Walgreens works with “Spirit of 45” to spread the word that the second Sunday of August is “Spirit of ’45 Day”, a national day of remembrance in honor of the men and women of the greatest generation. Store Manager, Fred Radtke, has been working with the San Diego branch of “Spirit of 45” this past year helping to celebrate the memory of World War II veterans. On site will be a 7 foot replica of the “kissing couple” statue for the perfect photo op for event goers. In addition special guests will include local World War II veterans. During the Grand Opening Celebration Fred Radtke will make a special announcement regarding local World War II Veterans and how the Coronado Walgreens plans to honor them. At 2 pm Mayor Casey Tanaka will end the Grand Opening with an official ribbon cutting.
