A Review of GameTruck – Let the Party Come to You

GameTruck is a brilliant idea for birthday parties! I called Regina (GameTruck rep) and easily booked our chosen party date here in Coronado. GameTruck mailed me the invitations for 16 kids and we were ready to go! My kids (ages 6 and 8) were ecstatic that a huge truck full of all the latest video games, soft leather couches, and huge flat screens was going to pull up on the curb outside of our house.

They counted down the days until the arrival of the truck. The driver called ahead to let me know he was on his way and he even arrived early. Rick (the ‘game master’) was great with the kids and helped get everyone organized. As he let the kids into the truck they rushed in to claim their seat and pick a game. Rick also helped the kids if the got stuck in a game or needed some hints. I suggest you only invite 16 kids, otherwise there might be some fighting over seats (only 16 kids are allowed in the truck at a time). On one end of the truck the girls were playing just Dance 3 while ont he other end, the boys were playing Mario Kart and Kung Fu Panda.

My husband and I really liked that we got to choose which games to include and which ones to exclude. We chose rated “E” games so that they would be appropriate for our age kids. It could be a fun adult party too if you chose different games. The kids were enthralled for 2 whole hours only stopping to come out and get a snack or go to the bathroom. If they got bored of one game they had dozens of other games to choose from. We also set up some games outside on the grass like basketball and soccer in case they wanted to run around.

The mom in me loved that all I had to do was set up a snack table on our front lawn and sit back and relax. My house was not a mess from any party chaos, so when the truck pulled away, there was no clean up! My kids are already asking if they can do it again next year- and I am inclined to say “yes!”
