Coronado Home Harvest, our community, monthly free homegrown fruit, vegetable and flower exchange, is meeting this Saturday, July 16. Please bring your bag of surplus from your garden, and if you dont have any this month, pick for a neighbor or make something to exchange. Drop off is from 9 to 10am and pick up is at 11 in front of the Coronado Public Library.
Also at 11 is a wonderful presentation from EDIBLE SAN DIEGO, a magazine of all things agricultural, sustainable, organic and culinary in our city. Riley Davenport, who edits the quarterly says :
“The Edible San Diego aim is to help San Diegans connect the dots between their eating choices and the complex effects those choices have on their health, the health of their community, and the health of the planet. We want to help transform the way consumers think about, shop for, cook, eat and relate to food in general and local food in particular by reconnecting them with local growers, retailers, chefs and food artisans. We hope that this more personal connection will help all to thrive in a mutually beneficial, healthful and economically robust way.”
If you haven’t had a chance to participate in a Coronado Home Harvest exchange this is a great time to come! Free and open to all. Bring a bag, get a bag! More information at www.coronadohomeharvest.com
